I am so looking forward to putting together a fun family dinner for Cinco de Mayo.  It wouldn’t be a fiesta without a great margarita in hand to go with all of the great Mexican food I will prepare…Mouthwatering Mexican Carnitas, Mexican Red Rice, and  Frijoles Refritos.  I’m planning on REALLY enjoying the feast, so I prefer not to add too many extra calories with my beverage.  If you feel that way too, this margarita is for you!  No funky artificial aftertaste from my favorite sweet and sour mix ( Baja Bob’s), in fact, one of the best tasting margaritas I have had and definitely a lot less calories than your average margarita.

  2. Add a few ice cubes to the shaker, close and shake well to combine.
  3. Rub rim of glasses with a wedge of lime to moisten.
  4. Dip glasses in salt if desired.
  5. Add crushed ice to glasses.
  6. Pour margarita into two glasses.
  7. Garnish with lime wedge if desired.
ENJOY!
The two places that I know where you can most certainly find Baja Bob's are BevMo or on line.
Do not substitute with another sweet and sour mix...YOU WILL BE DISAPPOINTED!
A darker Anejo tequila adds complexity and flavor to the margaritas.
Make the margarita your own! Experiment with the salt you use...there are lots of options out there.
